He’s got as much talent as anybody in the world other than maybe Tiger. And I think if we can get him out in the fairway, he can rival Tiger. He has a short game as good or better than Tiger’s. It’s a mind-set. It’s just a matter of trying to get him to play a little more conservatively and not quite as aggressively. That may be a bigger problem than the swing. But does Phil Mickelson have the mental toughness and laser-like focus of Tiger Woods? No, I think not. Nonetheless, Oakmont should be interesting.

It is hard for me to see Phil coming after Tiger on a consistent basis. I would love to see it though.

If he can continue to hit fairways like he did the final round of the Players, he'll come after Tiger "big time". Tiger is good enough to overcome missing fairways (normally); I question whether Phil can do the same thing.
Phil had it all on Sunday. Sean wasn't really able to grind through to the end. Phil definitely had the pressure experience advantage.
I think he Phil is a little too complacent to be able to do it on a regular basis and I think Tiger will hit form in the next few competitions which will show if he can or can't do it.
